Psychodynamic Therapy
Aaron has trained in a wide range of therapeutic approaches and works from an integrative psychodynamic framework. Psychodynamic therapy is an evidence-based treatment that has been shown to be effective in treating a range of mental health problems and has been shown to have long lasting benefits after treatment has ended. Psychodynamic therapy is based on the principle that early experiences are particularly influential in our emotional and relational development, and that our ways of relating to ourselves and others operates largely outside of our conscious awareness. For example, you may have some conscious understanding of yourself and relationships but wonder why you continue to repeat the same patterns of relating to yourself and others, and continue to experience distress, despite your best efforts to change. Through the therapeutic relationship, the past and present are explored, unconscious patterns are uncovered and processed, and new ways of being, relating and living become possible.
